Overcoming Obstacles equips teachers with innovative curricula designed to strategically and explicitly teach communication, decision making, and goal setting skills to our young people. Every child deserves the opportunity to express and communicate his or her ideas, feelings, hopes and fears. Every child needs to learn to make decisions, solve problems and understand that actions have consequences, both good and bad. Every child should have the opportunity to practice setting small, attainable goals to reach a grand objective. Since 1992, thousands of teachers using the Overcoming Obstacles curricula across the nation have impacted hundreds of thousands of students. Now, these prepared young people can make the most of life’s challenges and opportunities and become the next generation of a strong work force, responsible parents, and involved citizens.
