Our education system fails to equip young people with the tools they need to successfully navigate life’s obstacles and reach their full potential. Founded in 1992, the Community for Education Foundation developed a remedy to this problem—the Overcoming Obstacles program, which helps educators teach young people the relevant skills that everyday life demands. There are three components to Overcoming Obstacles: curriculum materials, training, and ongoing support—all of which are flexibly designed to meet the needs of individual schools, teachers, and students. There are thousands of teachers across the country utilizing the Overcoming Obstacles program in their classrooms.
