Life Skills Day – Respect Contest Winner

Posted: May 3, 2016

Overcoming Obstacles is thrilled to announce that Liberty Hill Academy of North Charleston in South Carolina has been selected as the winner of the 2016 Life Skills Day Contest! For their entry, they will be awarded our grand prize of $1,000 for their school.

The theme of this year’s contest was RESPECT – IT’S UP TO ALL OF US, and schools from around the country were invited to submit videos, works of art, photos, or any creative project they thought would best represent why giving and having respect is so important. Students at Liberty Hill Academy created a short music video titled “Respect Yourself” where they, along with their teachers, dance and sing along to an original song they created.

Liberty Hill Academy’s entry showed a tremendous amount of creativity, effort, heart, and understanding of why respecting each other and ourselves is so important, and Overcoming Obstacles is proud to award them our grand prize. Below is their entry.

In addition to our grand prize, two runner up prizes were awarded as well. Up first is West Ashley Middle School’s entry.

And lastly, here is Daniel Jenkins Creative Learning Center’s entry:
