Having a Positive Attitude

Posted: March 8, 2018
The following activity helps students build self-confidence. It can be found in the “Having a Positive Attitude” lesson of our K-2 and 3-5 elementary level curricula.

Distribute blank pieces of paper and coloring supplies to each student. Instruct students to draw pictures of themselves and write one positive thing about themselves (for example, I am good at math, I can draw well, I am good at sports). Once everyone has finished, tell students to walk around the class and write one positive thing on each of their classmates’ papers (you can write a positive comment on each student’s paper as well). Once everyone has had a chance to write something positive on every classmates’ paper, instruct the students to go back to their desks and read their papers. Encourage students to keep their papers and read them when they need a confidence boost.
